6 Ways to Be Inspired (How to find Inspiration)

What do you do on week nights? Perhaps you ponder why pencils, a stapler, and note cards with fun sayings and beautiful composer inspire you so much? Or maybe you wonder why freezing cold pomegranate Italian soda in a beautiful patterned tea cup with cubed ice makes you say "ahhh" after every sip. Maybe you wonder why bright or metallic colors and fresh, crisp, and modern composed anything makes you feel energetic, bright, and happy.

Right now I am doing all of the above. Some of you may be looking for ways to be inspired. I am writing this post for just that reason. There are times when we don't feel inspired. When there's no inspiration in our minds and it feels like we've been hit by a disease. Where do you go when you want to be inspired yourself? You can add this post and maybe even this blog to your list. As I think about the different sources that inspire people I realize that anything can be an inspiration. I know, I know, that might not have been the direction you were looking for but don't worry, there's more. Below you can find 6 ways to find inspiration and to be inspired.

1. The key to finding inspiration out of anything, like your favorite pair of tennis shoes or a quote that you have admired for a long time, is to look deeper. For instance, as a blogger you could write a review about your favorite pair of tennis shoes, promoting the business, or as a photographer you could have a photo session, featuring your favorite pair of tennis shoes (anything can be beautiful as long as you have the desire to make it that way). Or maybe you could think even deeper and make a list of things like: Marathons (set up a photo shoot, blog about it, or even participate in one, put those tennis shoes to good use!), Under Armour (or Nike or Adidas, write a review about the whole company in general), Color (maybe you could write a little persuasive essay about the importance of color and use your shoes as an example, if they're colorful of course).

2. Make an "Inspiration Jar" - write a different topic on a slip of paper. When you feel like you really need some inspiration for a new photo shoot, blog post, or maybe you are bored and want to try something new, draw a slip of paper out of the jar. If you are still stuck, try researching a little bit on the topic. Maybe you pull out a slip that says "Create a New Recipe" and you don't know what to do, think about something that you love that you have never created before, maybe a red velvet cake or a raspberry iced tea.

3. Make Notes - Carry around a note pad or sticky notes and a pen in your purse. When you see a new place that looks interesting or try a new restaurant or food, write it down, then when you are bored and can't think of anything inspiring and fun to do, look at your notes and see if any of them seem interesting. Your notes could say things like, "The Jimmy John's Slim 4 Sub is Delicious" or "Buy a Bouquet of Roses from the New Flower Shop."

4. Keep an Album on your Phone - this is just like the "Make Notes" idea above, but visual. Any time you try a new food at a restaurant, take a picture of the food and move it to an album. If you see the perfect spot to hold a photography session at, take a picture of the spot and move it to the album.

5. Simply Search It - A simple thing you can do to find inspiration is to search it. Try searching something like, "ways to be inspired" or "things to (example:) blog about."

6. Pinterest - There are so many people that own a Pinterest account. Go to Pinterest and look at the different boards that people have created. There are so many and each one holds many ways to be inspired.
