our save the dates
The concept of the save the date is both practical and fun in my opinion. They aren’t necessary for every wedding, but I wanted to get to design and send out something more casual and unserious. The mood board I put together looks like this:

I knew I wanted a vintage-inspired drawn save the date, and after looking I decided to go with a Western twist to honor Mason’s taste. I also loved the idea of doing a playing card design with our initials and motifs that relate to us.
I reached out to an artist on Fiverr who specializes in Western-themed drawings (check out joko_artstd). He took into account photos of our side profiles, references that I loved, and a few other requests I had to create the image below:
I used Canva to design our invites, and tested out a few different fonts and drawings/symbols until I ended up with the following design!!
I ordered these from printed.com. I purchased them in a 5 x 7 size, 250 gsm weight, and Tintoretto Gesso paper, and rounded the corners to imitate a playing card. The design transferred so well onto the Tintoretto Gesso paper, which is lightly textured, making it perfect for the vintage look I’m going for (as opposed to a smooth and sleek laminated paper).
I love our save the dates so much and have received positive feedback from our family and friends!
